Cancel, resend and refunds
When an order is refunded automatically, how to cancel early, how resends work, and what happens when a code was delivered.
Refunds happen on their own
If a number expires without receiving a code, the full price goes back to your balance automatically — before the supplier's own deadline, so a code that arrives at the last second still reaches you instead of a refund. You never need to ask.
Cancelling early
You can cancel any order before a code arrives and be refunded in full.
curl https://numestri.com/api/v1/sms/cancel -H "Authorization: Bearer $NUMESTRI_KEY" -d orderid=JRJ5UEXS{
"success": 1,
"message": "The order has been cancelled, and you have been refunded 0.99 dollars."
}A few seconds too early
Some suppliers will not release a number in its first moments. A cancel in that window is refused with 409 and code CANCEL_TOO_EARLY, with retry_after (and a Retry-After header) saying how many seconds to wait. Cancel again after that.
{
"success": 0,
"message": "This number can be cancelled in 12 seconds.",
"type": "CANCEL_TOO_EARLY",
"code": "CANCEL_TOO_EARLY",
"retry_after": 12
}Once a code has arrived
An order that received a code is not refundable — the number did its job. That holds even if the platform you were verifying with then rejected the number. Tell us anyway with the dashboard's Didn't work button: it counts against that provider's quality on that platform and country, which is what steers future orders away from it.
Resending
/sms/resend asks for the SMS again on the same number. It returns a new order_id — poll that one, not the original.
curl https://numestri.com/api/v1/sms/resend -H "Authorization: Bearer $NUMESTRI_KEY" -d orderid=JRJ5UEXS{ "success": 1, "order_id": "QRXWQWZK", "charge": 0 }
